Speech Class

I guess it is that time again. Time to update before certain family members start to make a fuss (no names will be mentioned of course, as I am always discreet in these matters, mother). Today I gave my, uh, I think it was my fourth speech or so. Anyways, it was a manuscript speech, which meant I could write it completely beforehand. A method I generally like. So, the speech was supposed to be some sort of public address. I thought long and hard, and came up with basically the only possibility. I gave a speech that I would make directly after conquering the world. It only took an hour or less to write. It is amazing how easily these ideas flowed from my fertile mind. :)

Anyways, for your reading pleasure, here is the speech:

I, Emperor of the world, welcome all citizens to this, the first day of my glorious Empire. Most likely, the majority of you have dreaded this day, preferring the old style of splintered governments. Let me assure everyone that there is nothing to fear.

The last four years have been hard on all of us, both for my supporters and the rest of the world which opposed me and my ideas. But, all this suffering has been for a greater good. The casualties will not be forgotten, nor will they have been in vain. A grand new age is upon us all, and I plan to make the most of my carnal time here on Earth.

I would first like to sincerely thank my firm benefactors and supporters. They were tireless in advice and counsel in the dark years of conflict. I would also like to thank my steadfast and hardened army, without which I would never have gained this high office. It was through their dedicated courage that this world government came about. Those who died fighting for my cause will never be forgotten, and I promise that their families will be well looked after in my Empire.

Likely, the rest of Earth is wondering what happens next. The first step is to rebuild that which was destroyed in the past conflict. Now that I have the resources of the entire world at my disposal, it is my aim to rebuild all damaged and destroyed cities and to make them more glorious than ever. But, even though I am the Emperor, I need the cooperation of my citizens to attain maximum efficiency. We must all unite together in order to restore the lives and livelihoods of all affected.

After we have rebuilt what has fallen, I hope business will return to usual. I have no plans to take away or destroy the companies and corporations that currently exist. In fact, without many of the barriers that a multinational world once presented, I hope that productivity and revenue will increase in leaps and bounds, to the benefit of all.

While business will not change in any large way, poverty most definitely will. Poverty only serves to tear down those it involves and damages the surrounding society. Every stricken person will be given the opportunity to work. There will be no more government handouts and relief systems. If people wish to eat, to wear clothes, and to live under a roof, it is their job to provide for themselves. I feel that this is a worthy goal for every human. Those who are too lazy to provide for themselves will not survive in this new world.

Finally, I realize that there are always going to be those who resist my domination of this world. Those who do not recognize this new order as better for mankind will not be allowed to spread dissent and hatred. But, on that note, nor will I follow the past examples of world dictators and brutally persecute those who resist me. No, I have already ordered into effect the establishment of several colonies which will serve as what the general population would refer to as prisons. They will be prisons in the sense that those who go in won't be allowed out until they have reformed, but inside these areas a normal society will be able to live out, albeit under stricter rules and regulations than the rest of the world. Believe me sincerely when I say that acceptance of this new government is better than being sent to one of these colonies. Out here, you have the chance to better your lives, and to live in comfort. Inside the colonies, while the conditions themselves are relatively good, those sent in do not have the many freedoms that the rest of mankind will enjoy.

Now, I would like all the citizens of this fair planet to get out there and work hard to better the world that we all live in. I am sure that together, we can create a far better life than we once experienced before I arose to power. The entire world will finally be unified and be able to strive forward as never before. Thank you.

More extreme? I don't know. I seriously wrote it like I really was emperor and such. :) I am a nice guy, after all.
