Total blahdom

Well, the blog beckons once again. Mind you, it doesn't happen often. Simply consider yourselves lucky that I haven't shut this stupid thing down yet...

Well, I am celebrating my birthday today by being royally sick. Headache and congestion have happily taken up abode in my residence. I really wonder when scientists are going to cure the common cold. I, for one, would gladly buy hundreds of doses for the near future.

As for recent events, Sharon, Kendra, and I took a short trip down to Ardith's place. Even though I had a sore throat for most of the stay there, it was still quite enjoyable. I will even admit to the world that Ardith can cook, no matter what I thought of her culinary abilities before. Let me see, how did I spend my time down there? Probably the best way I could: sleeping, playing video games, watching Ardith play video games, and watching movies. All in all, a great time. We saw several good movies, and a laughable one as well. Hellboy, most of which I had seen down at school, was quite fun to watch again. Especially since the CG in it is so well done (you can tell what I watch movies for. I mean, what is a movie without CG and special effects to help the story along?) We also went to the theater twice. Once to see Eragon, which wasn't that good, and was saved only be some halfway decent CG work, and also Night at the Museum, which soared above expectations, and was a fabulously fun film to watch. I recommend it strongly.

Besides movies, I also spent a lot of time on my laptop, mainly playing Warcraft III for hours on end. Unfortunately, I didn't get to the programming project as I had planned, but when I feel sick, games are about as far as I will go.

Yes, it looks like vacation might be worthwhile after all. As long as I get better soon, I am looking forward to seeing Lord of the Rings (for, oh, about the fifth or sixth time) again. It has always been my favorite movie, and I can't foresee any other coming close any time soon. I mean, it has everything there for a truly great film. A deep and rich story written by one of the most talented authors of all time. For the most part, quite good acting that truly brings the characters out. And of course, the CG and epic battles (my favorite part) are absolutely astounding. All in all, an excellent twelve hours of entertainment.

(please don't shut down your blog....I'd be reduced to keeping your IM window open just to see what outrageous time you go to bed each night)

I guess we know what it takes to get him to write so much: lots of movies with CG. "Total blahdom" must refer to the cold and not the CG, huh, Jason?
