It's Cold

Well, I guess I had better post something, before people start getting on my back about it. The temperature averaged around the high fifties to low sixties, with a nasty little breeze in the morning. Now, you might think that since I'm from Iowa this would be no trouble, but I found it very cold. I'm afraid I have really gotten used to and enjoyed the Texas heat, so this coolness isn't as nice as some of the guys here say it is. :)

Fall Fest has been in full swing for this week, with some very fun things happening around it. Our theme is Braveheart, and as such many of us have dressed up in kilts and have wooden swords. One event was something called Air Bands. Whatever floor groups want to can stand up in front of everyone at Saga with music in the background and make themselves look like idiots. Our floor also took part in this. For the first part we had that dance where you all stand in a line and alternatingly kick your legs up. I forget what this is called. Then there was some slow music from Braveheart where we had a fake sword fight. Finally, the great grand ending broke loose with some Irish rock. We used our swords for guitars for this, and it was great fun playing a guitar sword and kicking your legs up at the same time. :) Unfortunately we didn't get anywhere near first place, probably because we had only practiced about thirty seconds before putting it on.

Today was Spirit Day, where we all dressed up in blue and gold and went to soccer games in the evening. I'm happy to say that we won second place at this event. This was most likely mainly because of Josh Fleetman, who was an absolute crazy person in his cheering. We also all painted our faces blue and yellow to make things interesting...

Well, it has been a fun and busy week, and I greatly look forward to the weekend when I can relax a little. Four of us are planning to take a nice road trip Friday evening, just to get away from everything and have a genuinely great time.

I had better get back to finishing my Bible homework now...

Speaking of which....your sister Sharon called us from Argentina last night. We talked for over 30 minutes.

What a dear, sweet person-who-is-still-in-the-will......

Actually, no. Old people like me have to be careful of sudden surprises and shocking situations.

Besides, you might catch me at a bad time, like when I'm eating chocolate or something....

An occasional short IM or email would suffice.

Or how about an update sometime before the end of next weekend.

See, that's the beauty of a blog....

You just have to tell things one time.
