War
Last night was a battle. Let me explain:
For our Quad's EO (Extended Orientation), the freshmen had to get signatures of all the girls on our sister floor. So, most of them did so, if we did some dishes, carried out the trash, etc. Except their RA. She is actually a cousin of a guy in our Quad, and she is quite demanding about what we have to do. One guy on our floor, Jason (not me, there are three total) had to carry around their goofy manequin through chapel and such. Later in the evening, the girls asked where LaFonda (the name of their manequin, which is also their mascot) was. Jason replied he had set it down, and hadn't seen it since. Which was true.
It was really in a closet in our dorm. While doing homework, our RA Sam, and our chaplain Tim, among others, got a nifty idea. The took the manequin, and took photos of them holding airsoft guns to its head. Of course, the three guys in the picture were dressed appropriately, namely in Arabic garb. :)
That picture was then emailed to our sister floor.
Needless to say, this incited a small amount of wrath. So, a lot of the girls got together, and staged a raid on our dorm's lobby. They kidnapped Tim, who was doing homework, and dragged him away to some fearsome torture. They wouldn't let him go until we gave the manequin back. Of course, that was the last thing on our mind. We eventually planned to throw the manequin in back of one of the guy's pickups, and then, after getting the girls attention, proceed to throw the manequin out the back, and drag it down the street.
In the midst of all this preparation, the girls staged another raid, and captured Sam, the principle leader of the truck pull, and Josh, another guy on our floor. The rest of us hopped into the back of the truck to guard the manequin, and partially just for protection.
We cruised around, with some cellphone contact with the hostages, as we attempted to figure out what to do. Somehow through all this Tim escaped, and he joined us. We then went back to the girl's dorm to see if we couldn't negotiate something.
The rest of the story isn't as interesting. Basically, negotiations failed, but we eventually traded the manequin for the release of Sam and Josh. Of course, through all this Tim, Sam, and Josh were ruthlessly tormented and tortured by the girls. Let me just say that I know what makeup looks like on guys now. Complete with pink nail polish. :)
All together we didn't get a lot of homework done that night, but it was sure worth it. This war is not over...

OHHHH my.
Things were so normal back in my day...
Just be glad you have a lenyant siter floor. Mine would have to the extreme to get something of that importance.
Cellphone contact with the hostages? I don't think the girls should have allowed that.
If it gets to be a choice between "Staying the Course," and "Doing homework so I can get a good job and help pay Mom and Dad's Social Security," I vote for the latter.
Ah yes, we always suspected that's where "The Inheritance" in "The Will" is coming from.
