First day of work
Well, I wouldn't technically call it work, but nonetheless, it was my first day at Rockwell Collins.
It all started with me getting up at 6:30, which hurt a bit. I have to adjust my sleep schedule, and it obviously will take a bit of getting used to. Anyways, after getting to the proper building at 8:00, my group of intern and co-op people (about 21) went through paperwork, watched lovely informational videos about the company and how it works and how it wants us to work. Then, they had a marvelous little activity to help us get to know each other. Finally, orientation was over, and my manager and one of the employees I'll be working with came over and took me to lunch.
After lunch, I actually got to go where I'm going to be working for the next extended period of time. The work place is pretty nice, and the other members of my group that I have met are great. It looks like I'll be able to work with some pretty neat stuff, so I am looking forward to the coming months.
Now I just need my first paycheck...

And I thought you were starting Wednesday. I came here this morning hoping for additional chore reports.
Regardless, that whole marvelous little activity needs to be fleshed out...
It involved us splitting up into groups of three. Each group had a large piece of paper, on which three intersecting circles were drawn. Then, we each wrote down different facts about ourselves. The placement of these facts in the circles depended on who else in our small little groups also had those characteristics. It was supposed to help to us to get to know each other, I guess...
This should shatter any dreams about the workplace being different than freshman orientation.
