The Amazing Python
No, this is not about a snake...
Over the last few days I have once again fallen in love with the Python programming language. The last stint that I used it was over a year ago at Rockwell Collins. However, most of my own personal programming has been using C or C++.
However I recently got interested in Python again after hearing some others talk about some cool new features I had not even been aware of. I am currently working on a client/server data collection system for my own network and decided that Python would be an excellent candidate for implementing it. So far, I have been able to literally churn out the code in the most ridiculous way possible. Network coding alone (using basic TCP sockets) is so much faster and easier than in C/C++ that I could almost cry. And the fact that Python comes with compression and data object conversion libraries, and the fact that getting an encryption library for AES going in Python was pretty much a simple piece of cake makes it all the more awesome.

So, would you say that the networking libraries of Python are much more prolific than those for C++?
I mean with a scripting language... there's only so much you can do, right? Unless, it is done for you with robust libraries...
No, not at all. In fact, I used the basic socket library which can also be used in Windows/Linux with C/C++. The point is that the structures and automated memory handling that Python provides makes the whole deal a lot easier and quicker.
Oh, automated memory handling... that clinches the question. You should have said something about that sooner.
